I sold my Gen 3 last month that I had for 10 years and I am getting ready to purchase Gen V. I have my heart set on billet Silver (last one silver too) Here's the dealI prefer the SRT hood but can be happy with the GT style. I have found some deals on 14 GTS's that are going to be about the same money as a 15 SRT but not in
silver (does anyone want to sell their silver GEN V??? pm me please) I won't be happy with a black one but could settle for gunmetal. The new one, I'm told will be here in March which is an eternity to wait. Some of the 14's that I am coming across have build dates in late 13. Here are my options

1. Order the new SRT PROS- get the color I want, its brand spanking new, I get the hood I want.
CONS- no whistles and bells (not that important to me but could help in resale), I have to wait at least 3 months

2. Buy 2014 GTS- PROS- get to drive that baby right away, get a good mark down on list price, get all the GTS goodies
CONS- can't find a silver one in my price range so have to settle on color, car is surely sitting for a while and over year old

3. Wait until I find a used silver or gunmetal GTS or SRT PROS- someone else takes the dreaded drive it off the lot depreciation
CONS- I could be waiting forever

Any insight will be greatly appreciated. I do plan on keeping the car for years and driving it. I understand the plant will be closed for holidays-anyone know if it matters if I order next week or 3 weeks will it make a difference in delivery?? Thank you for your time.

Can you afford what you want or can you only afford what you can live with? March will be here soon enough, so that should not be a deciding factor. You really need to make a final decision for yourself or you will be settling for something you think you can live with, but wish you had gotten what you wanted. Tough call.

If in your shoes, get the color you want first of all. Otherwise, do you want to be that guy that always thinks they "settled"? Second, no idea why anyone would be waiting for a 15 when new 13's and 14's exist out there. There is virtually no difference in the cars. Lastly, definitely get a GTS over an SRT if possible. Why would you not.

So, again if in your shoes and Silver is your main driving point, look for a 14 in silver in a GTS. As noted earlier, 4 exist out there now.

Never seen anyone "settle" for a different color and not regret it later. The first sign is "yeh, not the color I wanted but I got a great deal..."

Thanks for the input. Definitely going to get silver. If I can get a decent deal on existing one I will snap it up, if not I will get one ordered and wait ---and wait. Thanks again.

This is true unless you want a 14 TA in Orange and there are none for sale. Then you have to order a 15 TA 2.0 in Yorange. But I agree get the color you want don't settle.

If it was me, I won't switch to another color unless I find an insane deal.

Tough call. I would likely take the loaded GTS at a better value w/ more bells/whistles, but nothing worse than spending $90-100k for a toy and having any regrets... Just think it through.... as you are.

I was in your shoes just a week ago. I was dead set to order a 2015 GT in GTS Blue. But then I come to find out they cancelled the best color ever put on a Viper. Pretty major let down. I started shopping around for left over 2014's. I ended up with a full load 2014 GTS for about 4k less than I would've paid to order a 2015 GT. I figure if I ever have to sell then the GTS is a better choice. But I am starting to wonder if I made the right choice getting a black car, instead of just ordering a competition blue. But I won't know for sure till I see a Competition Blue in person.

But if you have the option to get what your really want, then I would get it even if a wait was involved.

Well..... Did you decide?

I am working with a dealer in the mid west to try to strike a deal on a silver GTS but if it costs me more than 10K over what I can get a 15 SRT I will pass and put in the order. I have decided I will not settle for any other color. Does anyone know if I wait a few more weeks to order (thinking a dealer may take me up on my offer) will it delay the 2015 any additional time as they have taken a vacation at the factory???
