Help me spend someone's money

Hello,

I have a friend who is looking to buy a 2008 Viper. I want to ensure that he has the best advice and I am not familiar with the Gen 4s. I was hoping you guys could help me determine if the car is a good deal? Here is a link to the Viper advertisement:

No, not a good deal.

16K miles = High for an 08. Average is probably 7K miles or less
No Stripes, that is a $3000 option
Are the tires new? If not, $1500 needed there


Average 08 go for 64K US. I don't see this one as average for the reasons above. I'd expect it to be more like 55K-58K

VCA members will be glad to help. In exchange you've got to do some research first and then come up with specific questions. BUT, I'll throw you a bone by saying that no, it doesn't look like a "good deal" if you compare it to some other '08s with fewer miles. If you compare it's aggressive looks, bulging V-10, and 3400 weight to every other ugly, weak, and overweight sports car out there, then it's the deal of the century.

Seems a little high to me. That is not a lot of miles normally, but when we are talking Vipers it is up there for the age. My 08 has less than 8000 but plan on puting a bunch more on it and could care less how it affects value in the future. I bought it to drive it.

BTW, the MSRP on that car was probably around $91k.

That $65,300 average becomes $67,200 without the ACR's and salvage ones ... the total difference being a minus $24,700 to the total, therefore dragging the average down to $65,300 from what would have been $67,200 without either type involved.

In other words, there is a little more down drag to the overall average from the salvage ones, than the ACR's pump up the average ... at least from a more "standard" Viper.

I admit I have interest because I am selling mine ... but that is a valuable link for sure.
