The definitive answer:
Dan Fitzgerald of Fitzgerald Dodge is a youth-years friend of Carroll Shelby. Close friends.
Back in 1994, you could buy a glove box door for $11. (Now, only the whole dash ! Dan, creative marketing guy that he is, donated to the Shelby Heart Fund, and C.S. autographed "about 100" glove box doors, with a magic marker. Dan sold em for $100.
C.S. attended VOI-5 and a few creative guys had the Viper FourFathers Carroll Shelby, Bob Lutz, Francois Castaing, and Tom Gale all sign blank doors. A few also asked Roy Sjoberg, adding the "Five Fathers" {I have two!) C.S signed a LOT that weekend !
Carroll Shelby is the most prolific autographer of this era! He raises hundred$ of thou$and$ for charity. He DID sit in my 1993 at VOI-2 and sign my glove box door, as well as my rear decklid spoiler (a rarity in 1995)
And NOW you know the REST of the story........
