HELP! My #8 (10 amp) fuse keeps blowing when I put GTS in reverse.

Here's the deal. My #8 (10 amp) fuse blew (drivers side fuse box under dash). Not sure why initially. This fuse seems to run in line with the reverse lights and the defroster light on my 1998 GTS. When I replaced the fuse, the light on the defroster worked fine, without blowing the fuse. Then, I put the car into reverse. Pop - fuse blew. Just to make sure, I put another fuse in... Same result. What's going on?????

Take out your back up light bulds and see what happens also look into sockets to check for corrosion.

The odds are you have a shorted bulb, the other possibility is a shorted back-up switch. Just take a look the bulbs when you remove them.
