Viperholics,

I have a problem. Unfortunately, the previous owner of my Viper glued some decal to the dash (just to the left of the passenger side airbag). When he removed the decal, it left a clear hard substance (looks like super-glue) stuck in that spot. Do you have any suggestions for removal? I have a black interior. The glue residue is the size of a silver dollar.

Note: When I was a kid, we used nail polish remover if our finger got stuck together with super glue. I'm afraid this may be to strong, and possible discolor the area I apply it to.

You can try a hair dryer and see if it softens the stuff enough to rub it off. Though, if you get the plastic too hot you can melt it. There are also hand held steamers by Bissell that may work for you too, but you will have a lot of water/vapor and will have to prepare well before you start.

Citrus based adhesive remover. Get it at any sign supply store or Home Depot might have it.

I would try the citrus based cleaner first, the goo b gone I would be VERY careful of on a dash. Be sure to try in an inconspicuous spot first of course.
