I am seriously looking into headwork for my car. But as I was looking into that, I just noticed Hennessey has a cam for $500 which alone will bump the car 25 HP(I assume this is RWHP). If this is true and the labor to do so isn't too high, this would be the cheapest mod per HP? And if doing the heads will gain 50 RWHP, would the cam add another 25 RWHP? And what is labor cost for putting in a cam?

To do a cam and cylinder heads with the right exhaust I am seeing results with anywhere from 520 to 540 rwhp. To do a cam requires engine removal. I charge 12hrs labour to do cylinder head installation, camshaft and all assembly. Phone me on prices of headwork. I have a few different packages.

Recommend heads, cam, computer, good air box, intake work, lightweight flywheel, t&D rockers I will be offering packages in about 2-3 weeks with results that are unreal for the price

Matt-
A few things to keep in mind.
I agree with most of the things already mentioned, so it is not necessary for me to repeat, but:
1) I am not sure of the emissions and laws in MO. DO you have to get it checked every couple/few years? Are they strict? If so, then you need to make sure the cam you choose will pass the test.
2) Definitely do heads and rockers with the cam since the engine must be dis-assembled anyway. By that time, your primary costs are for parts. If you do the cam, I would only use the T&D Rockers as opposed to others.
3) Can't say for sure, but I believe most of the power numbers quoted above are for a GENII. Your numbers will, most likely, vary for a GEN I motor.
4) If you have your heart set on doing a cam, make sure the valvetrain and heads are up to the task. Since most aftermarket cams have more lift, stock valves and Mopar valves won't work.
5) With all of this work, you will probably require custom computer tuning on the dyno for ultimate driveability, power, and longevity.

We do offer sniffer legal cams, and are heads are built to handle aftermarket cams. We will also offer custom computer tuning on our in-house dyno.

Good luck!

Matt, i have just about everything possible done to my moter. Engine makes 560 to rear tire using 3.55 gear(with 3.07 gear would read close to 600)on moter and 93 octaine gas. In my opinion a cam is way down on the list for you. Start above the valve covers with bolt ons, then if your not satisfyed go under.Call Nick at Modern Performance (732) 222-3679.Nick is a straight shooter ,he will start you from square one(NO B.S.) and tell you the pluses and minus of each part.

Why do you lose 40 RWHP with a 3.55 gear???

PartsRack can provide good, used heads, IF you want to keep your heads stock.

We also have 1 set of Gen-2 USED Crower heads, available quite inexpensively. "Special Circumstances" Call me
