Help, Please, For Person Seeking 01-02 GTS

Hello!

I test drove an 01 GTS a few weeks ago and now I am hooked! Girlfriend really likes the Viper too.... so I need to act on this now! I have lurked for a month here, used the search feature like a good boy, and am now ready to come out and get a Viper. I have two Vipers I am considering at this time, and this looks to be a great community for SUPPORT!!!

I already spoke to Mr. Tator about getting the MaxCare after my purchase, and he was VERY helpful. He had a suggestion.... is there anyone that can look at either car for me before I buy plane tickets:

CarFax says 5,4xx on odometer on 09/2003
Obviously a concern (what happens when I register??)
Front emblem is missing in photos too... is this common... or maybe this was repaired?

Can anyone here lookup the DC info that CarFax does not return to see if TSB's were done, and what the actual "in service" date is for a particular VIN?

If these do not work out.... I am seeking an 01 or 02 GTS (ACR would be nice too). I prefer yellow and a few mods are OK, like Belanger headers, Corsa Exhaust, Cats. I do not think I want stripes. MaxCare 7/50 would be nice too.

I've gotten the loan (3.49% for 60 months... a steal) and checked out my insurance rates (about the same as my S2000). I CANNOT wait to get a Viper. Anything you guys can do to help will bring much more enthusiasm to this group (ME)!!!

Also, know of anyone close to Blacksburg, VA or Roanoke, VA with a Viper I can chat with?

I think we had a new member similar to yourself do a search on TWO Vipers from Florida. One was an SRT10 and I forgot what the other was. Both were lemons or falsely advertised. As a General rule, Florida car titles are easier to wash than others. So as a caution wrt any Viper from Florida DO YOUR HOMEWORK. Most importantly, contact Florida based VCA Members to review the car prior to you flying out. You'll save monies, make new friends/contacts (including Two Vipers Chuck Who's very Very Cool BTW) and learn alot in the process.

I've never heard of a VIN not showing up in CarFax.

I wouldn't bother to call the dealer back that is selling the car with a potential rolling back odometer and missing badges.

You get what you pay for

I have dealt with Jenkins and they're straight up guys. That doesn't mean the particular car you're looking at is perfect, of course, but I don't think they would knowingly misrepresent anything about it.

Thanks to all that replied! I have PM'd everyone back. I hope to check out the yellow one with stripes in the next few weeks (he's VERY close by to some family)..... perhaps seeing stripes in person I may change my mind and want them!
