Help repairing my dash????

Viperholics,

I had to remove some adhesive from my dash (above key hole to turn off airbag) (1998 GTS), and stained a small area of the dash. Is the dash painted, and if so does Dodge sell a paint to fix this? Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Good question. Does the dash have a shinny or matte finish. My 99 had a matte finish with a blemish. Had it replaced under warranty. Unfortunately, the replacement has a shinny finish and sun glare coming off the dash is blinding. I understand that al replacement dashes have a similar shine. Go friggen figure. Anyone with info on interior paint RSVP.

Denatured alcohol should remove the adhesive. without damaging the finish on the dash.

I can't remember what the '98 dash was...grained, or not. Anyhow, either way, there is a very good brand of vinyl dyes that may be exactly what you guys need. Auto body supply houses sell a brand called SEM. It comes in rattle-cans and when used correctly, looks perfect. You have to make sure that the surface is absolutely clean..they make a prep product. It comes in many colors, but I seem to remember that a flat back is available. (ACR Joe...try Flannery Automotive in Bensalem.)

onerareviper...if your dash is like the early GTS dashes...they were just plastic that was painted. The later grained ones are molded in color. If it is a non-grain dash..you may be able to get away with a regular interior paint. I know Ford made a great interior lacquer.
