A buddy of mine has '96 RT/10 which he just dynoed. Nice #s 427 RWHP 486 RWTQ, the car has headers, no cats & a 3.55 gear. The problem is the a/f mixture was 14:1. Is this too lean? Will it hurt the motor? What is the "fix" to make it run richer?

Ron,
NO, my 1996 RT/10 runs (on the Dyno), A/F between 14.6 at 3000 rpm to 13.4 at 5600 rpm. Quite flat.
Am sending you a Email with the A/F , HP, Dyno chart.

The most important thing is that there is no pinging/detonation or your car is not running on the edge of it.

However, I do feel that your A/F ratio, though consistent, is a little too lean. For safety and margin, you should shoot for the 12.7-13.2 range. All of the Vipers we tune, we try to get into this range. Some mild tuning should be able to solve this.
Good Luck! Certainly you can make some more power by leaning out the mixture, but in my opinion the trade off and potential risk is not worth it. Better safe than sorry.
