Was the officer using radar? If so it can be harder to beat. If not, I've heard of many people that have gone to court without a lawyer and had the speed or fine reduced. If you live in a State where you can go to traffic school you can keep the ticket off your driving record. They even offer traffic school online in many places. Fast and easy.

Good luck with your ticket.

Go to court no lawyer needed. It don't matter if you were actually speeding or not, here are the rules:

Cop shows up = you get ticket
Cop don't show up = you get off

A lawyer can't do much for you for a speeding ticket. Go to school if you can, so you don't get points. I've been to school 6 times now and I keep getting smarter each time

in response to if cops show up, you get ticket...if the officer shows up...an you loose..go to round 2..round 2 is an appeal. this process is more time consuming for the officer. most likely he will not do this part. most people stop at the first level. continue to level 2.

Dependant upon where you live of course. In NJ all you need to do is show up (no lawyer needed) and meet with the prosecutor before court and he/she will pleed the case to a lower violation (ie. 2 pt ticket instead of 4 pt)
