Well, I have always waxed my wheels but when it came to dusting them off, arg, there wasn't an easy way, I have tried everything with no luck, a towel works ok, but I got the solution, California Dash Duster. Unreally , works great, er, OK, excellent. The dust comes right off. It doesn't work very well without the wax on the wheels.

Just thought I would pass it on. Hope with helps.

One more thing, to check your car to see if it needs to be clayed, get the cigeratte plastic off the outside of pack of smokes and put 2 or 3 fingers inside the plastic and rub on the paint lightly. You will freak, the plastic increases the sensetivity to the fingers 10 fold, you will feel the mountains and valley of your perfectly waxed car. This will blow your mind.

Enjoy

I have been using that same thing for 6 months now, Gerald introduced me to it. He's been using it for over 1.5 years now...I love it, works great.

I don't know how you're able to remove brake dust and greasy road grime with a duster but so be it! Here's a tip for cleaning wheels on cars that perhaps see a bit more real world experience, especially those with BBS wheels.

In a word "Simple Green" (that's two words isn't it). Cleaning BBS wheels used to take as much time and effort as cleaning the entire car, but no more. I purchased a pressure sprayer (typically used by in-home exterminators), fill it ~ 3/4 full with Simple Green ($8 for an imperial gallon at Sam's Club), hand-pump some pressure into it, spray one wheel, allow the Simple Green to soak into the grim for ~ 30 seconds and wash it off thoroughly with a powerful stream of water. 95% to 99% of the grim is removed; saves about 20 minutes of arduous wheel cleaning. Will not harm the wheel finish.

Any questions?

A simple word of warning.

I just had my wheels refinished by Wheel Wizard. I was given a pretty good run down of how to take care of them. The very first thing they told me was to stay far away from Simple Green.
They claimed it would dull the powder coat finish over time.

I used to use simple green on my wheels regularly. I guess I will have to kick the habit.......

regards,

Joe, I was amazed how easy the dust came off, it must be the green pads,,,,,,not to much grime in California I guess,,,,,,
BBS wheels should come with a mobile detailer, Had them on a Beemer, what a major pain.

I've used the California Dash Duster on the wheels of my Porsche for over 7 months and starting using one on my new Viper as well. It works best if the wheels are waxed. It only takes around 10-15 seconds per wheel to clean them on a daily basis. If there is dirt that doesn't come off with the duster, I use Quick Detailer sprayed on a cloth and wipe off the wheels.

I never use a spray-on wheel cleaner for fear of damaging the finish. The stock wheels are pretty easy to wash with car wash soap and a wash mit. However, if I had the ACR BBS wheels I might think differently. When the Calif. Duster gets really dirty I spray wheel cleaner on it and rinse it off. After a few months of use I buy a new one at Pep Boys for around 6 bucks.
