It depends on what you want and whether or not you want to participate in Viper Days events, but the Kumho tires are getting pretty good marks at much less than your quote. Stick with Pilots if you what to do Viper Days. I think they require Hoosiers or Pilots? There is a topic on the Kumho tire in the last week or so. Traction is excellent, price is right, somewhat shorter life.

Take this with a large grain of salt, because I have not tried the Kumho tires.

Check out prices on other discount tire stores (ie: Tire Rack), add about $20-$25 for mounting and balancing, add your local sales tax, and that's how much you should pay.

Local tire shops here in SoCal pretty much match the prices of discounted internet tire stores.

Yep, that's exactly what I did. Came in under tire rack even with tax when you consider they mount/balance free...

The price of sticking...

Did you try Sears? I got a set of 4 sports installed, balanced $1,320 including 6% tax. These were 17" the 18" would be more. It's been about one year, so don't know current price.

I just got the two rears (Michelin Pilot Sports) for right at 688 from Sears, including tax, mounting and balancing. Now these are 17" tires. I have noticed a difference in the way the car tracks already, (big improvement) and it is quieter and a little better ride than the XGTZ rears gave. More reim protection too, the Pilots have a big rubber ridge that goes over the edge of the rim to protect it a bit more.

I called Tire Rack and talked to a couple different people who were suppose to have the best prices. They didn't and it was a waste of 5 phone calls.

No dig on you G-dog just my experience last week.

Okay....so far my intense work week is forcing me to abandon moving tires around town with viper so save a bit.

It looks like I'm gonna do the one stop shopping thing at the place a block away.

Thanks Jon!! I'll be needing some new brake pads soon, but I want OEM. Do you have them?
