I've been following the forums for quite a while and haven't heard of a cross reference for the ABS rears to another car. (I have a dim memory of some car being mentioned that would be unlikely to be on the road any more.)

If you search, you will find many threads about pads for low dusting and quietness, and also for track performance. None really talk much about cost. http://forums.viperclub.org/srt10-srt10-coupe-discussions/634267-brakes-pads.html

The ones many recommend for street driving are EBC Reds, or Hawk HPS or ceramic, with some input about the Reds squeaking while most others say they have no issues. The OEM pads are good all around performance pads; but, because of that, they tend to dust more and squeak for some people (mine don't squeak).

It probably is not the best idea to put mismatched compounds on the front versus the rear; but, I don't know if the average cruiser or fun road driver would notice the effect. Its the panic or agressive stop that it would show up in. The ABS might compensate for that though.

My RT10 is also a 2002 with ABS.
I have EBC "Yellow stuff" on front and rear.
As you can see on the picture below the rear ones are also for Ford Thunderbird and Mercury Cougar.
Maybe that helps...

Call Chuck Tator, JonB or Porterfield. Porterfield knows more about brake pads than just about any other company. I deal with Wendy, she knows her stuff. The numbers on the yellow stuff package, D592 and D599 should be cross referenced by Porterfield to AP592 and AP599 I believe. These are industry standard numbers for the pad style.

I was surprised to see that cross reference to a FORD !

So, I looked to see what RockAuto.com's website came up with.

Surprisingly they list the following applications for each rear brake pad part number that they carry:

DODGE VIPER GTS (2001 - 2002)
DODGE VIPER RT10 (2001 - 2002)
FORD THUNDERBIRD (2002 - 2005)
JAGUAR S-TYPE (2000 - 2002)
JAGUAR VANDEN PLAS 2005
JAGUAR XJ8 2005
LINCOLN LS (2000 - 2005)
LINCOLN LS SPORT 2006

Be careful that you buy pads that are designed for stopping your car in the situations that you plan on using it for. A pad made for a Thunderbird or Jaguar sedan is not necessarily designed to handle the kind of driving that many Vipers see !

If you want your car's brake balance to remain, then same pad material front and rear.

Toms said that one of the Eagle cars used the same rear calipers. I also don't remember the specifics.

I bought my last set of Ceramic pads form JonB.

I have a never used set of front and rear EBC greens (the older formulation - apparently better than the current one).
These are the low dust ones for street use. I upgraded my '01 GTS to the SRT brakes and don't need them anymore.

Make me a reasonable offer and I'll ship them to you.
