hello all, my first post.
unfortunatly not an owner, and know i wont be for some time.
but i am a huge fan of the viper, always have been, always will be.

live in the UK so vipers are very rare, only had the priviledge of seeing 2, one gts on the motorway (briefly from a distance) and a gen 3 at a motorshow.

do have a lovely collection of models though :)

right down to the point, late on next year i am having a family holiday in florida, and as im not too interested in going i thought id use the opportunity to rent a viper for a day or two.
ive looked at a few places, but think ive settled on Xotic Dream Cars in palm beach. (one **** viper).
Was wondering if anybody has used them before and if anyone knows how easy it is for a foreigner to rent

sorry for teh long post, ive been a long time lurker and have been thinking of an excuse to pop up a post for some time.

If you plan on renting such a car in Florida you will have to leave a credit card deposit with an insurance rider attached. Make sure every inch of the car is documented for scratches, dings, and Paint condition. Don't know about Xotic Dream cars, but Palm beach is a great place to drive a Viper.....you did not state your age....there may be an minimun age requirement attached to the insurance rider.....

sorry twister. the name began 12 years ago on my first froum, and i hate having numerous names so i stick to one, but thanks for the help

art. thanks matey, im 24 now will be 25 when it comes to it, but iirc XDC are 18 and over so thats ok.
credit card could be a problem, but ive got a year to get one so shouldnt be that big a problem, any ideas on how much it would have to be?
thanks for the hint on documenting the car.
and as for destination. ill be in orlando for the duration of the holiday and i think palm beach/miami might be a bit far if i go with just the one day. but it had crossed my mind :)

thanks again

Good Luck in achieving your dream(s). But be careful. See the forum elswehere for upside-down rental Vipers.

I like your name because Viper is the King of just about everything.....so maybe its a SupraKing too......

the name twister always makes me think either '****** twister' (maybe he got those alot in school?) or of a pug I had named twister because he ran in tight little circles whenever he got excited. Either way its not viper related thats for sure.lol

About renting the car, have you contacted the rental agency? I am sure they could answer all your questions better than we could guess at the answers. When it gets closer and you have firm dates for when you are going to be in the area be sure to post here and maybe some members from the area will meet you.

I did this 7 years ago as a gift for my husband in Pennsylvania. The company I used doesn't have a Viper anymore, but it did cost $600 for a day, $1200 for a 3 day weekend. I needed to provide (in advance) a driver's license and some basic background information (birthdate, etc) so a background check could be done. The company also ran the driver's license for any driving violations - and could decline the rental if they didn't like my hubby's history. Not sure how the international license would come into play, so I'd suggest calling the company just to make sure it's possible.

On the up side, 6 years later there was a Viper in the garage....

Good luck with your rental, and don't kill yourself in it. (Not trying to be a ******, just being realistic about it.) it aint your mothers daily driver ya know?

My bad my bad,,,I apologize...Im constantly in heated battles with the local supra club and really just dont like those cars at all...

I lashed out on you and I apolgize..

I go by twister..or tornado...Basically because im fond of blowing peoples doors off..

Belieave it or not we actually get tornados here in hawaii and I happen to live two miles from were they like to form..They are F0- f1 TORNADOS BUT Still very kool to see..had 2 this year and several awesome funnel clouds right by my house...

Even kooler is when they stop appearing we get these MASSIVE dirt devils that can be 500 feet high and 50 yards wide that can violently pick up small rocks and sticks..All in the same pineapple fields 2 miles from my house were the tornados form..

So thats why I go as twister
