My name is Mike and I'm 29. I've been lurking on this site for a while. Vipers have always been one of my dreamcars but I never imagined that I'd ever be able to afford one. My love for racing and high speeds led me to sportbike racing. I've tracked quite a few sportbikes (ranging from 750s to 1000s) at trackdays and races. After a few crashes my money ran out so I decided to enlist in the AF. I did a 6 year enlistment in the Air Force and I separated in December of '06. I got a decent job working as a DoD contractor on Fort Huachuca (Sierra Vista, AZ) and I worked there for about a year and a half. I'm now working as a civilian IT contractor in Iraq and for the first time in my life a Viper is within my financial reach.
I've read about the Viper being discontinued in 2011 and my original plan was to try and get a 2011 model. However, lately I've been getting a bit worried that due to the sad state the economy is in, perhaps the Viper may be discontinued before then. I really want to get an ACR and the '09 Graphite ACR really gets my adrenalin flowin. I'm not sure how close the '09 ACRs are close to selling out but I'm looking to place an order in 3 or 4 months (perhaps I can place an order for a 2010 model?).
Crazy part is that I plan on working in the Middle East for about 3 more years so if I do get a Viper I'll have to store it until I return to the States for good. I think it'll be worth it because I really want a Viper ACR and I don't want to pass up this opportunity.
