I have Sean's Hi flow cats and will be installing this week. I'm wondering what would be the downside of not having them at all?

I hear they reduce heat by about 80 degrees. I would like to get some also from Sean. I know they oval and round and in different sizes. Which one if any fits directly into the old place. Or will any of them have to be fitted by a muffler shop?

I have oval which are biger and offer more HP. Those are harder to install. I woul not go to anybody that does not know Vipers.

Downsides would be:

1)Smell and fumes
2)Louder
3)You will need to fix the O2 sensor issue.
4)Depending on your exhaust, you might shoot a flame out the rear end. This is cool but can melt the back of the car.

The ovals are big. (square peg in a round hole?). Rapping the motor can cause these to vibrate against the side sills in some cases. It's a tight fit.

Here is the deal, the original cats have a 90 angle pipe that is part of them, so none of them will "bolt on". You will need to cut the original cats off to save the 90 degree bend.

Thats my problem around here is finding someone who knows Vipers. You car has impressive rwhp at this point. I have Corsa on order and look forward to the added sound and power. Aren't the cats good for another 10 hp?

I've had, Roe oval's, no cats, and R/T cats. The downside without cats is a louder all around exhaust, and MUCH louder popping upon deceleration, with possible flames shooting out the rear. Also a $10K fine if your caught w/o cats (don't matter if you have the sniff test or not) Possible fumes, although I didn't notice any. Hotter side sills w/high flow cats verses no cats.
