I was fixing an exhuast leak today and was wondering if my cats were high flow or not. How can I identify this? Mine are cylinder shaped and are brownish. Theres one little rectangular tag on it but I cant make out what it says.

Now, if im dynoing 525hp and 545tq, and they are not high flow, then what type of gains could I expect? Whos got the best cats? Does it really matter?

I am not certain what cats you have. One of the tuners would probably know. What other mods do you have on your car?

The stocker cats are about 24" long....no high flow cats are that long...do that would be an indication...

What other mods do you have...are those rear wheel numbers???

Can you take a pic of one of the cats and post it???

I have ported intake and heads, upgraded cam, T&D rockers, Headers and 3 inch pipes including dynomax mufflers, Aluminum flywheel, Carbon fiber airbox, 10mm wires, VEC1.

Now the cats not 24 inches long, Id say probably 15 inches and its ugly. I just dont know how to tell.
I will buy high flow or remove them if I can verify that they are stock.

Those aren't stock...big diff between just under 24 inches long and 15 inches...no way those are stock...

Get a digi pic to post, and I am sure someone will recongnize what kind of High Flow cat they are...definitely not stockers...

I can't see your car having those mods and still using stock cats, no way. Did you build the car or buy it with all of the work already done?

This is a little off-topic, but a question for SMCBuilders:

Are you the guy who is building all of the alcohol/water injection kits that everyone raves about on the net?

I will say this, in John Hennesseys defense everything that was included in the Venom 600 package was installed perfectly and in tact when I bought the car. I just wanted to be sure the cats were high flow units. The car is a rocket compared to a stock Viper. He also has been working with me in my quest to get a few more horsepower out of his work.
