i just got done with the install of my DLM paxton today. was able to fire it and let it idle for a while. after it learned a bit it seems to idle perfectly.

it usually shows about 40 or so on the gauge when idling. but i noticed the oil pressure gauge is pretty much pegged at 80. i had to tap into the oil pressure sending unit to get oil for the s/c. i did mess with the send unit a bit but not too much id think.

any ideas why the pressure is so dang high ???

obviously im gonna check the sending unit tomorrow to see if its bad. but anything else ?

Check the wire from the sending unit. After I messed around down there a while back I was also sometimes getting high readings. Then eventually my gauge was pegged and I knew it must be a wire problem. Checked it out and the wire was cut in two pieces. Soldered in a new wire and all was good.

Baz, you have NO idea how good that thing sounded to me after 10 weekends of working on it. tomorrow i need to clean up around the cats where it rusted a little, por15 it. install the boost gauge and then DRIVE IT !!!

driving it home. taking it to the muffler shop for the pipe from the sill mufflers to the existing x-pipe. then off to the dyno for tuning.. :)

Not sure how accurate the gauge is, but with that amount of difference from your normal--it could be something out of whack. For the record, mine has always idled about 62 pounds. I have to pound it on a track and get it good and hot before it will drop to 45 or so on idle. As soon as it cools down some, the pressure goes back up. 95% of the time mine is running around 60 pounds. I guess they're all a little different.
