The Holiday Party & Charity Auction is upon us--can you believe that?
That's right, just two weeks from this coming Saturday, December 1, 2007 @ 6:00pm, is the annual Kansas City Viper Club Holiday Party! This event is a perennial favorite and always draws a large crowd. This year should be no exception!
LOCATION:
This year, as last, we will be holding the Holiday Party at Bacchanalia Private Dining Restaurant located at: http://tinyurl.com/y4w2yw.
How to get there:
From Nixa, MO: Driving Directions from 2329 Riverbluff Dr, Nixa, MO to 12450 Newton St, Overland Park, KS
From Blair, NE: http://tinyurl.com/yabbpe
From Des Moines, IA: http://tinyurl.com/ye3cxa
From Troy, KS: http://tinyurl.com/yz2lvv
From Gallatin, MO: http://tinyurl.com/ydwnle
From St. Joseph, MO: http://tinyurl.com/ym5k9f
From Lee's Summit, MO: http://tinyurl.com/yb3t9j
From Jerry's garage: http://tinyurl.com/ybnv8u
THE AUCTION:
As usual, we will be conducting our charity auction and already have a number of committed vendors and supporters who have provided items for the auction (more on that in the days to come). For those new to the club, the Charity Auction portion of the event is just that, an auction, with half the proceeds going to charity (Big Brothers Big Sisters again this year). The balance of the proceeds go into the club's account to support events like Saddlers Racing, Dyno Day, The Premier Sports Car event--and the Holiday Party itself! The auction will be held during the party, and the items auctioned come from both our club's great vendors and supporters, and our members too. Indeed, some of the greatest (and most expensive) items have historically been donated from local members. Items donated are generally Viper related, or at least car related--though certainly not always. In the past few years we have had everything from parts in movies, to private plane rides, to choice of condos in exotic locations, to a week in Grand Cayman, to a big screen TV! Don't worry, most of the donations are far smaller, and anything is appreciated. And, if you are not going to donate anything, at least plan to bring your checkbook and bid on items!
If you plan to donate, please let me know ASAP so I can begin to track what needs to be included in the live and silent auctions.
DINNER:
We will be having dinner and desert at Bacchanalia. While the club picks up most of the expense of the party (about $50 a head), we will continue our tradition of requesting each person pay $20 to cover a portion of the expense and to provide us with some idea of how many are coming!
PLEASE forward payment ASAP to either: (1) my PayPal account at [email protected]; or (2) send me a check to:
William E. Corum
1804 SW Fountain Drive
Lee's Summit, MO 64081
[SIZE=+0]LONG DISTANCE DRIVERS - ATTENDANCE INCENTIVE:
We really want all of our club members to join us for this event, but we realize that some may be deterred by a long drive. So, for anyone outside of the KC Metro, we are offering a $50 BP gas card (per car) to encourage your attendance--that's right, almost half a tank of gas!
To get the card, I need to know you are coming (so make sure I know), and you need to show up! No, you need not drive the Viper--though you should try to if the weather allows!
There are many nice hotels in Overland Park near Bacchanalia and you should have no trouble getting a room that evening. The Overland Park Marriott can be reached at (913-451-8000).
RESERVATIONS:
Please let me know if you plan to attend ASAP so we can make proper arrangements for seating and food.
Should be lots of fun and a great way to end a great year!
Best regards, Bill C.
VCA-KC, President
PS: Oh yeah, we do have some fun surprises for those who attend!
