Hood cracking under the speaker grills?

My car is in the shop getting the front fascia resprayed. While they're at, I thought I'd have them touch up some of the nicks/rock chips/etc. in the hood. They pulled off the speaker grills, and found some cracks/crazing under the grilles; I think they called them "crows feet". Is this common? The rest of the hood looks perfect other than the normal rock chips, etc.

I had them bad on my '94. It was very common for dark colored 94 & 95 vipers to have hood cracking issues. I haven't seen any problems with the '01.

I have it at the outside front corner of one of the louver openings. It grew about a quarter inch each year till I re-enforced it from underneath. That's Quebec roads for you.
