Curious if you could do me a favor.... I'm putting louvres in the hood of my RT/10 project car... oval louvres, not rectangular ones like on Gen II's, and am considering the location. How far back is it to the leading edge of the louvers from the front edge of the hood on your RT?

That's gonna look great, Jay! I think it's right at 21 inches.

Jay,

I measured 19 and 1/2 inches from the leading edge to the front edge of the hood.

Jay,

Thanks,

I never understood why Team Viper used the square ones, there is not a square edge on the car. Here are the two options at this point, the first one uses the dimensions above:

Here is one with them more toward the center.

Any comments?

Oh wow, that's a way better design than stock! I think it would look and preform better if they were bigger. I dont really like them on the center.. I think they might even make the hood weaker.

I agree. I would go with option one and make them a little larger. Very cool.

Thanks, I was originally leaning toward the center, but the more I looked at it, the more it said "Camero"....

I wish I could make them a little larger, but the louvres are off a Jag XJ-R?, so the size is fixed, unless I can find another oval louvre set off another car that will fit... so far these are the only big oval louvres I've been able to find.

I'd put them more toward the front facia to give the engine more fresh air. I think those would also look good on the rear deck lid! Do you have more sets available? It might look tricked out to have them on your hard top too if you have one. Vent the whole car to keep it "cool"! I'm not a car designer or anything, but I do have a pretty good eye for this stuff!

LOL. I bought a GTS NACA duct, but decided two more louvers was enough. I did not want it to turn into a 70 Shelby..... with so many holes in the hood you needed a calculator to count them all.
