Hood pad replacement

I just received my new hood pad from Pollard motors. I plan on painting the logo on the new pad as others have done. Great deal at $110 plus $12 shipping for anyone interested. I'm wondering if there are any advantages/disadvantages in leaving the existinig hood pad in place and just installing the new one over it. If one hood pad is good. . . . . you know the deal.

I don't think there is any advantage to having two hoodpads. You are probably better off just removing the old one and just putting on the new one.

You'll need to pull the clips anyhow...and remove at least one hood attaching nut anyhow.

Also, the extra thickness may cause rubbing on the inner fenders.

You may run into 2 pads hitting other things. Part of the pad is cut out of mine to fit the Roe in.
