Hood question.

I purchased a two sided Carbon Fiber hood for my '08 and had a question. I believe (standing in front of the hood) there is a ground on the left bottom side of the hood. Covered by the hood pad. Do I NEED the hood pad or can I simply just attach the ground to the CF hood and have everything be o.k?

I don't know about an 08 but I believe those are ground and just straps to limit the hinges I could be wrong at least that is what I think they are on my 04. I had a Vipair hood on it and didn't have the straps connected and didn't have any issues

i believe that strap grounds the back of the hood pad scince its like a foil type insulation. atleast on my 06

I don't have the ground straps hooked up anymore (had to remove the pad to clean it after loosing a steering hose at the track) The only function of grounding the hood pad would be to create an RFI shield, I never turn on the radio anyway.

Ditto - you don't need the hood pad. The ******** editions don't have them....
