The amount of heat your big bad v10 produces will be too much for the decals even if you seal them well, they will peal sooner or later.

Because all of the factory decals under the hood have peeled already, yes? NO they haven't...
All the factory decals are not right above the engine taking the heat head on like the Viper decal is. Would you rather decal the outside of your Viper or paint it? Which will last longer? Checkmate!!! :p

I did a search and no luck on instruction for painting the hood pad.

Does anyone have instructions? What kind of paint and clearcoat to use, or where to get the decals.

thanks

Here is some instructions for how I did mine. I took the simple route and used Home Depot paint, but it has held up just fine with probably over 10K miles on it.

Try this. These are the instructions I followed. Painting is not hard at all, it does take a bit of time but works great. I did not clear coat mine and it looks as good as it did 8 months ago.The decal idea looks good but I think you have a lot more color/pattern options with painting and you can always touch it up.

I would think the decals would melt, Who makes the decals?

I would like to paint it unless there is an easier way.

But then again, I would like to purchase one already done.
