Hoosier A6 Mounted on Sidewinder Wheels

That's what I'll be sticking on my Gen V ACR when I get it 
I really like the Sidewinder II wheels - they have that semi-BBS look to them and they look to be really well machined. I'm curious about what the Sidewinder III wheels are going to look like, but I can't imagine that they can make them any lighter than they already are unless they change the materials dramatically (and expensively).

These are the matte black, however, they are more like semi-gloss or satin. They are a better track wheel since they won't show the brake dust as much.
The wheels come from Japan to Chrysler and then to VPA. I was told that a shipment of the rears was being received by Chrysler this week, however, they don't know if mine are part of that group. I was hoping to have them for an autox this weekend, I guess it will be the Corsa's.
I forgot to mention, these are 315 x 30 x 18 tires. They do not appear to be too large for the wheel, they actually look like they fit perfectly. The rear tires are huge in comparison to the fronts. The cost of the rears versus the fronts substantiates the size diff.

Jack, I just today, mounted 315/345 R6s on mine. Have 3day track event at VIR this weekend. I had 18 heat cycles plus 500 street miles on the 295/345 R6s that were taken off. Probably good for another track day or two. Allan

Are the R6 street legal or you just drove around anyway ?

They're not DOT rated, so technically not street legal. But, that's one of those things where I doubt there would ever be an issue - the car itself is so distracting that nobody is going to zero in on the tires... Just never drive in the rain with them - that would be scary.
Sorry , but an R6 is a DOT competition tire, so it can be driven on the street --just not going to be great if it rains or if the road is in poor shape.

I woud never use them as an primary street tire. Wear fast and fragile for normal road hazards. Short distances to/from track ok, but not more.

Exactly, I ordered an extra set of Sidewinder 2 wheels with Mich PSS for the dayly street driving, saving the Corsas for going to the track and back only. So as long as the R6 are OK to go about 60 miles to the track, i'd be fine.

Does the DOT rating on an A6/R6 truly make them legal for street use? Curious if anyone has real world experience running a DOT competition on the street and getting challenged by Johnny Law? According to Hoosier, they are DOT rated for marking and performance only whatever that means. They also say NOT INTENDED FOR HIGHWAY USE for very good reasons. But are they legal?
