Here's one thats only got about 8K miles on it for less than $33,000.

AUTOCHECK says it was repossessed, had an accident with "no frame damage" but air bag deployment.

No hard top with it, but I love the low miles, and ABS. But, I fear trouble trying to re-sell it if need be due to these things on autocheck/carfax.

How much does "repossession" effect the value of a car?

Thanks again.

Look at it this way, "repossesion" has no effect on the value of the car if you never intend to sell it.

Other than my daily driver I don't view my automobile ownership as transient events.

If you are looking for a Viper with a clean title, low miles, and are concerned about resale-there are a LOT of really nice Vipers for sale to be had.

If you find a car like this one that you love and you plan on keeping it and don't care about resale, go for it.

Dude, I wouldn't touch a REPO period, end of story. There are plenty of really clean low mileage Vipers out there. I just bought my second one, a primo Sapphire Blue/Cognac GTS from Premier Sports Cars in Springfield, MO. Call Chris Guyer at 417 831-6065. Tell him Craig from California sent you. They have beautiful cars and will work with you on all reasonible offers. Auto Trader is a good source. Don't touch the REPO. Good luck

I agree that a repo has a certain negative vibe, but right now, there are MANY repo'd cars from otherwise respectible, caring owners who've been slammed with spiralling circumstances. To me, service history and condition speak far louder than the credit worthiness of the previous owner.

Yet the truth remains: Consider two cars for sale that are identical for all intents and purposes. However, one has a 'repo' history, while the other is unblemished, then the latter example will bring more. Human nature.

VIPER02: Great color combo, and I agree with you on Chris at MotorCars. Nice guy, top notch facility. Did you get the car with the custom leather seats they had for sale? It was for sale when I was looking, but that might've been a different car.

That and keep in mind that pretty much every year GTS is a good buy. Be flexible on the year and that may help you as well. I do agree with the rest of the posters, stay away from a repossession. IF the guy was not able to keep up on his pymts, who knows how hard the car was driven the last few months of ownership. The bank will give you a deadline before they send someone after the car so he knew it was coming, probably went joy riding, then wrecked it. Who knows what other damage may be hiding mechanically!
