65 is the speed limit in Iowa ...... but once (or maybe twice) on a closed track of course - 145 with the top off. Viper wanted to keep going, but I chickened out!

Around 140 with the top off :D :D . May have been going faster but for some reason I wasn't watching the speedo very closely. I was out playing with some Ferrari's-at the time I was following a 330TRI, one of one, it was the car that won the 62 Gran Prix and Lemans (or maybe 63 can't remember) beautiful car! There was an F-40 with us, only saw him when he would stop and let us catch up

160 on straight country roads full of ruts that the tires just love to follow, it was a scary and exhilirating experience to say the least

How fast can a stock GTS Viper go? It is said she can do 190 MPH out of the box (straight from the factory). Is this true or 170 or 180 MPH the limit? Any light someone could shed on this would be greatly appreciated.

205 mph with 2 busa's behind me and 2 RT's doing 180mph

I didnt even realize that I was going that fast until I looked down after a mile and half of full throttle and said that is enough.

Damn - VERY nice.

I am prepping for a 200 MPH run this summer. Just something I want to check off my "list".

I installed a camera mount to record the run. :)

145 in the Viper going up a decent sized hill too. Previously I had been just over 140 in my '69 Charger R/T SE. 140 in that car took awhile to get to, the Viper hit 145 without any trouble at all.

when i hit 200 mph i will be satisfied. since i have only hit 182 mph so far i am gonna need a few more ponies to get the job done. head and valve train work with a 200 shot of juice in 5th gear and i am gonna get it.

At Viper Days in Mid Ohio Sports Car Course last year I left it in 4th gear after I got out of the pits through the whole course - you don't need to shift with a Roe Supercharger. I put the throttle halfway down and a third of the way down the back straightaway I was at the 6000 RPM redline - 151 MPH. I did this a few times and the car felt like it was glued to the track, but the series of turns at the end of the straightaway are very difficult and I needed a little more time to relax my brain to get ready for them so after "been there, done that" I slowed down to 130 MPH to give me more time to relax my brain on the back straightaway.

I believe if I were more experienced and did shifting and had floored it that I would have easily been close to 200 MPH by the 400 foot braking sign near the end of the straightaway...

But I had promised to drive safe and not do anything like that, so I didn't. (Viper Days was concerned that I didn't have all the required safety equipment for an unlimited class Viper, but they let me run anyway because I had promised to run for consistancy, not speed. At the end of Viper Days I was able to do 5-6 laps in a row all within a second of each other.)

176 on New York State Thruway on a Sunday, in the summer, at 7:00 am, with the top down, windows up, rear window out, with my lawyer/cop good friend in the passenger seat.

.........and had lots more to go.....felt great. Ran out of straight road.
