Without admitting to the legality or non-legality of your drive, how fast have you driven your Viper and what was it like? What gear were you in and do you want to take it faster?

188mph. Car was completely bone stock. This was before the exhaust mods.

Surprisingly little drama, but I was simply driving straight ahead. The engine was still pulling, I really wanted to find out the top speed, but I had to slow down.

Road was wide, straight, empty.

Thanks Kai.

You aren't by chance the guy who drives the red SRT-10 to work occasionally over in Gunbarrel?

Of course, the stock speedo is likely very inaccurate at those speeds. For instance, one vehicle I own reads about 10% too high. I note that the Viper speedo *is* very accurate up to around 90 or so, so it could still be accurate.

Anyone do these runs with a GPS or get radared during the run  to have a more accurate speed reading?

175 on the track....wearing an old snowmobile helmut and strapped in with the lousy stock seatbelt
I must admit that I did not have the balz to go any faster (cosidering all my fine safety gear ;) ), I was passed by my friend at that speed - he must have been flat out.

My snake's speedo is dead on with my GPS. The car is very smooth at speed and has alot more in it - and yes this was a closed track.

Oh, yeah?!?!? Well, I can show you a "Max Speed" on my GPS of 621 mph. And, I can put it in the car and take a picture of it ALSO.

Of course, that speed reading was actually taken in a passenger jet, evidently with a hefty tail wind.
