I have a stock bottom end, I got blown... and I have a supercharger.
I believe that heat is a real issue with the stock cast pistons. Get them too hot (with excessive boost and/or a charge that isn't cooled) and you've got problems. I've heard this from some of the most reputable tuners out there.
Paxton has a very well integrated air/water charge cooler. This allows a safety margin. Maximum boost only at red line, so time at high boost is not great for street driving.
