How Many Gen-1 Original Head Gaskets??

It takes about 1 day to do it.
Gaskets.
Oil + filter.
Coolant.
That's all.
I would say $1500 is a decent prize.

I had a quote from a very reputable Viper tech. It was norht of $6k if I recall correctly.

$6k??? I would run like hell away from that dealer. The gaskets are expensive (I remember something like 600-800 depending on version) but labor should not be significantly different than normal cars. Unless a Gen I needs the cylinders reset. I can see the 1500 quoted above but 6k. That would be unreasonable for a airplane motor rebuild, let alone a push rod V10 head gasket installation.

Yes, I just pulled the quote. It involved some other items. Labor, parts, milling etc was $2700.

2 years ago gaskets replaced under warranty. About $2,200 was quote at that time. Mileage was about 9K back then. Dealer said they found tracks indicting leakage. No puddling under car tho.
