How many SRT\'s came with a polished gas pedal?

Hello;

Y2KGTS posted a picture (see his pics, pg 1 of 2 pgs) of his new SRT, and sure enough, it has a polished gas pedal.

My SRT #332 does not have polished pedals (not that it is a big deal).

Does anybody know if this polished pedal thing started at, or before a certain VIN #?

It is I Viper mystery, and I would love to know if it is a "special gift", as Y2K is I believe an officer for his area. If PVO did this for VCA officers, I think it is a great thing.

I also just recieved the very first MGW shift knob for an SRT. It looks BEAUTIFUL, and very well made. It also sports the Red "Cloissone" Fangs logo. I have never put one on an SRT (obviously) and the knob did come with directions. I am trying to get the courage up to go put it on.

I'd love to hear about the polished pedal thing if you know.

Jim

Can't imagine Dodge played "favorites" on polishing the go pedal! I'll try to get an answer on this one... maybe a supplier change?

I don't know that it is "polished" per se, but just seems shinier than the other three pedals (dead pedal included). I will take a closer look today.

PS. Car was done long before I had any title worth a footnote...

Rechecked mine and they look to be the same as those in the other photos. It was in the shade when the last photos were taken.

I suspect that polish is just more use. Chris seems anxious to get past the break in point.

Chris,
Again, you came through with great pictures. I have a habit of adding all good pics to my computer for a screen saver. I usually change the name, as they are sometimes no representative of the picture. As I went to save the pic of the gas pedal, I was just about to type in "go" when I saw your title...good choice!! Gave me a good laugh!

Just don't save the clutch pedal picture, as I saved it thinking I had shot it of the brake pedal instead (yes, it is titled "stop"). Sigh...

Glad you like the pics, and feel free to make any picture requests if you have any - the car is snowbound in the garage and the camera has fresh batteries!

Oh my!
Yet another Viper conspiracy uncovered!

If I knew that the elected officers of the VCA would not only get their cars first but would also get better, sparkling, polished GAS pedals then I would have certainly considered taking Houss' position as leader of the pack.
It's just not fair... it's not...it's not...it's not!
I'm telling Wolfgang.

FYI, Joe's gas pedal is diamond-encrusted with rubies for the eyes. As my friend Mel Brooks likes to say, "It's good to be the king."

After being "goaded" into crawling up on my lift to peek at my pedals, lo and behold, ALL of my pedals are shiny!!

Well, not really. Only the farthest right one (is that the brake??) is shiny.

Joes' gas pedal is still in a box at CAAP. He still didn't get his SRT yet. So much for VCA officers getting preferential treatment.

The really paid attention to every little detail. I LOVE the snake on the gas pedal. Man...now I really wish I had my house!!

And I don't suppose I could argue with that much either!

Now as far as Jerry's comments - covered in BLACK RUBBER? Surely you are just kidding. There is not a spot of rubber on any of these pedals:

All but the gas pedal are finished in some very rough metallic coating that almost seems like fine grit sandpaper. Here is the clutch pedal:

As far as the gas pedal, I thought that if it is indeed different from Jim's, maybe it had something to do with this one being scheduled as a factory delivery. Nope. I had to peel little pieces of a clear plastic protective sticker off it that said "DEALER MUST REMOVE". With the sticker remnants gone, here is what the gas pedal looks like up close and personal:

Oh, and as you can see from the first photo, the clutch isn't that close to the dead pedal as I first thought. Must have been those big hiking boots that messed me up (although it is still a little close). Definitely like the look and feel of the pedals!

So, could it be that there are small running changes to the car as the model year progresses? Hope so! I know that the original '92's had differences among them and I think it adds character to the cars. I am just glad Jerry got the rubber pedals. And probably a functional cupholder too...

Black #223, I was supprised to find that I too was blessed with the beloved "POLISHED PEDAL" of which you speak!
Gotta rush out now and buy the winning powerball ticket
