Not sure if anybody here has driven the 08 yet but, curious what they will be saying once they do. I’m talking mostly seat of the paints feel of 90 more HP.

When going from a Gen II to the Gen III the main thing I noticed was the civility of the SRT/10, not so much the 60 more HP. The HP is there but because it’s so smooth it’s deceiving. Wondering what other’s think they’ll feel when they get in a new Gen 3.5

With the variable valve timing I believe the new engine will pull much stronger as the revs rise.

I got to hear several of these running at the Chrysler testing facility, and they ran really smooth at higher revs, as well as punching out the numbers.

I think the new car will feel much faster "seat of the pants"

New stickier tires will also contribute to this feeling.

Finally got it !

Stop it. Just stop it. You are trying to convince yourself not to buy an 08.. You can try to resist the urge but will fail......:D

Its definately going to feel faster. Assuming a 15% drivetrain loss they waould dyno 525rwhp. Some say we lose more then that. So assuming it puts down anywhere from 500-530rwhp, its going to feel strong. But with improvements to trans and other things. It may be deceptively faster/smoother.
Otherwise, assume it will feel like a GEN 3 with headers/exhaust/tune/filters/pulley and then some. :D

Hi Andrew. Take a ride in a stock kit Paxtonized Gen III with Corsa cat back. There are a number up your way. e.g. FloridaChris. Discount the feeling by 125 to 145 HP and you are there. Are the toad thumping storms as bad up in West Palm?

Apparently no one knows first hand...arrrggghhh

I spoke with Jon B @ PartsRack a while back, and this subject came up. Apparantly he HAS driven an '08, and IIRC, he compared the pull of the '08 to a Gen III w/ 3.55 gears.

I get my '06 Coupe back tomorrow. Having 3.55's installed.:2tu: Just need to find a way to keep up on the top end now.

We're getting some rain but need much more Bob:(

There were post's after the Gen III came out as to which was faster ( Gen III or Gen II) and sometimes it would come down to driver.

I can't wait to get first hand accounts so I'll know if I should walk or run to get one :headbang:

That's a great analogy coming from John B.

Aren't there some CAAP techs lurking around here that could tell us more for comparison?
