I have a set of (4) 96 wheels and tires with only 4900 miles on them, what do ya think I could get for them?

Agree. 96 wheels are not sought after much as they are the weak ones (welded hub to rim) and least shiny. Wish I would have known that back in '96 when I bought a new set to upgrade my '95.

The ones nobody wants now will be the ones everyone wants 15 years from now. Never throw ANYTHING away. Get them while they're cheap!

MagicBoy2, I would definitely want the original Gen I wheels if I owned the car. Originally is very important to many collectors and if I bought a Gen I car with aftermarket wheels, I would also buy a set of original wheels to place in storage just to preserve the originality of the car. How many Gen I cars are totally stock today? 25-35%? Those stock wheels would be very important to me. JMHO.

Janni you are correct. But 1996 wheels were common between 96 RT/10 and 96 GTS. The only difference I know is the RT/10 wheels were painted. Part of the Gen I 1/2 aspect of the 96 RT/10.

Ron,
I know the wheels are common - the original poster has 1996 Blue and white GTS in his sig, so these are more appropriately called Gen II wheels - although most precisely 1996 GTS cast, polished and clear coated.... as the 1996 RTs are painted and the 97 and 98 wheels are forged. :)

Well.. A set of flawless 5 spokes with tires (painted)maxxed at 1k on ebay a couple days ago.. prices on the 5 spoke stuff is definitely dropping.. seems esp prevalent with the 18"'s that are on the market these days.

I would be interested in the 96 rims if there were new tires on them. But if you have to buy a full set of tires, it doesn't make sense. Rims $ 1000.00 plus tires 1400.00 = $ 2400.
Upgrade to 2000 stock 18 inch rims with tires on ebay selling for around $2500.00.

There are some detail differences between the RT/10 and GTS wheels. Look here to find out what they are and what to watch out for.

Thanks Dean for the close scrutiny. Now I gotta go look at the backside of my wheels to see which they are. I bought them through Mopar as soon as they were available in service for 1996 MY (polished version).
