How much HP increase with no A/C?

I see that several of you are removing your A/C systems presumably to increase HP. What HP increase would you expect to get by removing the A/C system? Thanks

I doubt it's significant. The A/C shuts off at WOT.

Pardon my ignorance as I'm the new guy here, but why would anyone remove A/C from their car if there is no significant increase in HP?

I took off the A/C on a GTS that I turned into a race car. I dynoed it later and gained 5 RWHP.

Maybe they the feel 3-5 hp gain or 5-10lbs loss is worth it. Maybe it's one less thing to work around on the engine. Trackers want every bit of weight savings and hp gain. Draggers of street machines it shouldn’t be so important, at least it wouldn’t be to me.

I'd be surprised if it was that much. With the compressor turned off, there is little or no resistance to the clutches. I'll trade the minimal horsepower loss for the AC anyday.

whatever the hp gain - its not enough on a hot humid day to justify removing it for me. air con is worth it IMHO
