How much oil use is too much ?

Not true...some do use oil, but the majority won't use a drop in 3k.

I agree but GM states that, not me.

I am lucky and have not had a car use/burn oil to any great extent. One of the car mags I got in the mail last night just had an article on this topic. It listed some possible causes and the reason why manufactures dont do anything unless oil consumption is much worse.
