I posted this on the alley as well, just wanted you all to be aware.

How do you explain this one and be taken seriously?? This actually happened yesterday, but I wanted to share my experience with you all. Probably never going to happen to anyone, just my luck.

Yesterday morning I was coming home from work and decided that I needed to fertilize the lawn. I get my little scotts seeder/fertilzer out and start going to town. That took me a whole 5 minutes to do so I proceeded to put everything away. As I was walking in the garage I noticed some smoke coming from underneath the car, I kind of came to a panic state and tried to quickly find out what was going on. I realized my bumper was smoking, the panel was hot as hell, first thing that came to thought was the battery. I never moved so fast in my life, trying to figure out what to do. I hurried up and grabbed my tools to pull the wheel off. I kept looking over and trying to blow out the smoke and then it finally I questioned myself, is it the wheels? Are they acting like a magnifying glass and burning the paint??

It was the wheels, the damn wheels LOL! I could hardly believe what just happened. I stored my wheels like this for almost an entire year and this didn't happen. Long story short, don't store your wheels like this and learn from my mistake. Now I have to take to my bumper off to get it repainted. Good thing is it didn't warp anything just burned the paint like some marshmallows over a camp fire. Definitely not going to buff out....:(

That is just crazy. And bad luck. But I could see how that could happen. I bet you couldn't make it do it again if you tried.

I Was Just Wondering, Have You Not Drove Your Car for Almost A Year since You Said You Stored Your Wheels Like That for Almost A Year? jw! If So, Why Would You Put Your Wheels Right Behind the Car Like That For A Year?

I have a TT setup and had a mishap with one of them a couple of weeks ago, I removed both of them last week to send them in for repair and this required me to take off the front wheels to get access to them. My car was down for a year prior to this. I had my wheels in the same place for during the entire down time. They've been there for about a week now and this happened.

I've had this car for about 9 years now, I'm the second owner. Not sure if i'm the one to thank, but if so your welcome!

I've seen sun damage, but I've never heard of anything like this happening!

By chance, did you cook a lot of ants with a magnifying glass when you were young?. ;-)

Thanks for posting....I would imagine NOBODY would have ever guessed this could happen. I store wheels just like that in the trailer (99% of the time closed) so not an issue, though when I open the door, I'll think twice. Yikes!

Thanks for correcting! I'm sorry the message wasn't typed to your standards nor a word used appropriately for you. Thanks for being the normal dick that you are!

You are welcome. Nothing to do with my standards, just your lack of education.
