I see all of these Vipers with incredible hp numbers. What is the best way, or most cost effective way to get 7-800 reliable hp?

Why is a 2000-2002 a cream puff?? Is it because of the different pistons?
How big of a checkbook?
I have a 2000 GTS and want to follow the right path.

Yes a cream puff is because of the cast pistons. The most power that I know of that has been added to a cream puff is a Roe Charger with a 5 lb pulley and a 50 shot of Nitrous. This will get the RWHP in the 600's But you can call Larry Macedo for all of the details on this set up and cost. Larry is a great guy and will help you out. If you want the 800 hp option he can do that as well but it will require new pistons. I think you are 20k plus in the checkbook for this option, but call Larry and he will help you.

We just started carrying a new piston kit made to replace the cast pistons in 2000-2002. It uses the stock rods for that year range (specific) and includes forged pistons with LOTS of material over the top ring land, new rings and pins. $1375 + S&H. We looked for an economical way to correct the cast piston issue and that's what we came up with.
Contact Dave at 1-866-275-7326, ext 2, then # for details.

Regards,
Sean

I thought your DLM was the fastest Viper in the world. Is this not true? I though RSI had the quickest 6-speed record but that was it?

Hefner, BTR, Macedo, Roe and Doug Levin Motorsports.
I have a Levin Motorsports car and I am extremely happy with it. Will build another DLM again one day! Runs a strong as the day I built it from 1998.

Cheers,
Chuck

Yeah Roof.....I did not see you plug DLM

What's up with that?????
It's called BEAT one man down to bring the other man up. :smirk:

It's called MONEY - the bigger the discount the vendor gives you the bigger you try to help promote them.

From what I have seen, Underground offers the most power for the lowest cost.

"Cost Effective" Alright here is my plug for DLM. Cost effective also includes long term costs. I did a DLM because I plan on keeping my car & I did not want to worry about anything for a long time. I didn't want to worry about melting a piston, etc.. The one thing I have learned in my short life is - You get what you pay for.

Can you get 800hp for 15K?? Sure, but how much will you be putting into it for the months to come? Other things wil break that you should have done in the first place.
Pay me now or pay me later.

DLM has one of the best reputations for well engineered Systems. Doug is not cheap, but it is done right! I didn't want to work on my car for mechanical failure, just for fun & poser upgrades.

All may be true but is it worth the 9 - 24 month wait to get it?

DLM vs Heffner vs Underground vs Roe in THE BATTLE OF THE DISCOUNT TUNERS!

4-way steel cage match THIS SUNDAY-SUNDAY-SUNDAY!

(yes I know I'm mixing my wrestling adverts with monster truck rally and used car adverts, but so what?)

For what it's worth, if and when I get my car blown, it will be by DLM. Yes, he's pricey, but in the end, he's only a few K more than the others - worth the extra coin for peace-of-mind. As for reliability, from scouring these message boards for 1.5 years, there seems to be literally no one who builds a more reliable supercharger package.

Good point, YES it is.

You can get it done quicker, but it seems that those cars are back in the shop week after week. Maybe not 9 months at first, but it seems to add up to 9 months or greater in the end.
