I would like to attend some of these races, and represent my fellow vipers, however I do not have a turbo or anything like that on my car yet. I am thinking about a Roe Supercharger, but I am stock except for headers, side exhaust, no cats, less the a/c, and a few other minor things. I expect my car to be running mid 11's the way she sits now. Can I still race in these events and be competitive?

What classes are there?
How much is it to participate in these events?
Do I need drag slicks?
Thanks.

Viper/Vet series has classes for cars stock to modified. Also Ohio VCA will have the Viper Nationals in Cols OH in conjunction with the Dunlop Neo Classic, Aug 5. Drags, Auto X and drifting. Lots of track time.

I never even went to a drag strip, but I want to. Numedia is like 30 miles from my house.

Go to the site and read up on the rules:

http://www.racesupercars.com/speednews_current.html

The brackets go all the way from 12.5 sec down to a 10 sec bracket and finally an open class. You are better off to run slicks, keep it simple and get a set of Mickey Thompson ET street radials.

One of the races is at Thompson, to give you an idea of travel time, it is about 2.5 hours from Pittsburgh, That track is typically slippery, you will need slicks there.

Good Luck
