We are ordering another Viper as we have sold our second to last one last night. We want to build around something G-5 Viper owners would ideally like to see. If you were to order how would you like it?

Personally, I would go white or grey SRT, red leather, track pack wheels, red seat belts, and if the funds were there CF packages.

To be honest, I'd put out an ad that tells Viper owners that they have the opportunity to custom order a car that suits their particular wants. There are just so many options out there right now, and so many personal preferences, that it seems like the only way to get something that will fly off the showroom floor is to pre-sell it via custom order. I'm still not sure how the allocation system works - but I know that personally I'd rarely buy a car off the showroom floor just because I like to know that I've ordered exactly what I want.

If I were to come into the showroom today and just had to have a car that was sitting there, what I'd buy is a TA model in Orange or Black. No way I'd buy a fully optioned GTS with all the niceties and sound-deadening materials. I'd want something as close to an ACR as possible, and ditch all the luxury things that add complexity, weight and cost to the car.

Agreed. So far we have had a GTS Blue Launch package and a GTS Viper White that we sold last night. I came up with the idea today to order something that most people would want. GTS Launch Ed has been slow to move. However now put in a position to order another one I want to order something that will move quickly. I am thinking something quick to move with minimal equipment anyway just pulling the feelers out there. Orders will be placed Wednesday Nov 13th. I have 3 spots avail 1 SRT and 2 GTS just looking for ideas. Obviously the quickest way to move them would be on a pre-sell short of that I want to order car VCA members want to see I think that will move them the quickest. If someone wants to pleace a pre-order I would be willing to cut a super deal (pm for details).

Buyers are especially weird in the SF Bay area - you get those who want a totally stripped down version of the car with all the luxury frills deleted, but all the go-faster options in place, and then you get the ones who think the car is going to be a replacement for their BMW M6 (and those guys hardly ever pull the trigger).

For me, a totally no-frills model (no high-end interior - stick to the Sabelt ballistic nylon seats), with whatever track-pack is available today, in solid black or solid silver would be what I'd go with. I honestly like the non-leather Sabelt seats - I think they look very cool and I prefer them over the high-end stuff. In other words, if it doesn't make it go faster or be more fun to drive, I don't want to pay for it.

But, after murdering my Gen IV ACR, I'm sitting on the sidelines for a new ACR to come out - so my opinion is worthless.

I'd do the new blue color on a GTS, black interior (not Laguna, too pricey) with carbon aero and 18 speaker audio. That's it, the perfect Viper if I didn't already have a Gen V. Great for touring and the track.

If Chrysler/Dodge announced that there's no ACR coming. I would go to the dealer, and pick up, or order a TA today.. For me the Viper has always been a street legal race car. A Leman's Racer if you will. I'll never forget when they won Leman's back in the 90's and 2000. That's when the Viper fever hit me. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the ACR variant too. Looking forward to adding it to the stable..

I want to see that blue in person. I bet it looks cool..

Black leather sabelts, no other options. Base SRT. Keep it cheap, advertise it cheaply.

For me, Ideal Gen V;

TA orange, Billet Silver no stripes, or White with NO STRIPES.

Basic black leather interior, with stitching color matched to exterior.

I'm partial to the interior/exterior carbon fiber package. Stereo upgrade would be nice as well. These two may not be needed for a great looking car that's not insanely priced.

As far as I know this is the first gen that leather is not the standard for the seats, and I honestly think that was a bit of a mistake for SRT. I have never seen one without leather, and it should be a standard option on a $100,000+ car. Might be able to justify it for the TA & ACR variants.

Just my .02

If I were to re-order my '13, I'd have skipped the $3K leather seat upgrade and just went with the ballistic cloth seats. I think they look better, and would be cooler in hot climates. And, I'd add the carbon aero.

SRT
Solid white
Track pack Sidewinder2 wheels
Corsa tires
Carbon aero
Balistic cloth seats
Nav/rear cam

The GTS aren't moving all that well. I'd do a pretty bare bones SRT. You'll move it easily IMHO.

I think too many dealers made the mistake of tricking out GTS. Just because you can swing $105, doesn't mean you can swing $140.

The only thing I wish I had upgraded was the sound system in my SRT.

Great info I think we are leaning towards building the SRT pretty bare. I like that thought

One thing to keep in mind for the buyers is that the bare cars will hold their value better... When I murdered to death my ACR, I realized that the options get depreciated by about 85% even if the car is perfect and has low mileage. When I do it again, I'm going for performance and no frills - these cars are meant to have fun with, and when something unexpected and impossible to avoid happens, it's much better to keep your exposure to loss at a minimum.... It would really **** to buy a fully optioned $150k car and have the insurance company use a "standard" Viper to valuate it against and then throw a low-ball price at you. The insurance guys don't treat Vipers like the cars they are - they use the same valuation criteria that they would use for a Dodge Caravan - and believe me, options don't hold their value.........

I think you've nailed it for the best Value/Performance set-up that would move quickly.
Although I would still pay the extra money and reorder my same White GTS with Track pak and Sepia int and 18 speakers + I'd add the now available aero pack

For 2014 the Viper increased by $2,000 but brought the HD Radio with Navigation and Uconnect, a back-up camera and 12-speaker Harmon Kardon stereo as part of the standard equipment. No need to choose them as options.

2014 base SRT is a bargain !

Something about seeing the Dodge Caliber type seats in a Viper just makes me shiver. I would never spend 100k on a car with the ballistic seats.

Sadly..No, My sticker clearly says Gas Guzzler Tax $2,600 and it's a 2014.

Booo!! I somewhere I read online said it dropped to 1995. They must of had that mixed up with the destination charge. Looked it up, 2013 was $2600 also.

Base SRT with Silver paint and black rims. That will sell. I have no idea why white Vipers are so popular. In my part of the country, white anything means oilfield, construction, government or rental.

Seeing a viper in white kinda cheapens it and doesnt show off any of the lines of the car.
