HTML disabled? URL in sigs?

Why is HTML disabled on this board?

Why don't they allow hyperlinks in sigs?

Or is HTML enabled AND hyperlinks are allowed in sigs, and I'm just ********?

UBB code is fine for the basics, but it doesn't render properly in Firefox and other (better) browsers.

(hyperlinks work in posts, but not in sigs - weird)

The quick and easy answer is that the few have ruined it for the many. The bottom line is that there is so much damage a person can do with HTML...it just ain't worth it.

As for sigs....that has been a longtime plicy to just keep the sigs short (relative term.......where the h3ll is FRANK???) and sweet.

Like I said....quick and easy. When I have more time today after work (what are you dooing up before me anyway!?!?!?! ) I can elaborate. I'll also have a look at Firefox.

I figured abuse is what led to HTML being disabled, but the lack of hyperlinks in sigs seems it would have the opposite of the intended effect. If someone wanted to add a website in their sig, they would have to type the entire URL ( e.g. http://www.llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwyll-llantysiliogogogoch.com ) as opposed to a short link
