Business this week in San Francisco. Drove up I-5 to Seattle and ran the highway patrol gauntlet. I had two try to sneek up on me in the ACR from behind:nono:. Anyway, I hit 11,000 miles on my '08 ACR. Anyone else have significant mileage on their ACRs?

I don't have too many miles on my ACR, but I've made the trip between the SF Bay Area and Portland lots of times. There are a couple of places on I-5 where you better not be going more than 5mph over the limit or you're going to get pulled over - especially if you have out of state plates. How'd the ACR do in the rainy areas? It's been raining off and on through the Portland area for a while now, and the times I've taken the car out when it's raining have been, uh, unsettling...

i need to drive mine more.

Me too - these things are just too damn fun to keep in the garage. For me, old age and wisdom seem to be getting in the way of doing more driving. Too many evenings after work I'll have a couple of beers and think "I really have the urge to take the Viper for a drive". Ten or fifteen years ago I'm ashamed to say that I probably would have just done it. Now, I have enough sense to leave the car in the garage and just fall asleep in front of the TV like any other self-respecting geezer would do. :)

I'm glad to see people out there actually enjoy their Vipers and DRIVE them! I, included, was always leary of putting miles on mine just because you rarely see anyone have more than 50K on them. But, what's the point? After all, we each worked our butts off to buy something we WANTED! Might as well use it while you have it!!!

I have the regular pilots on the car so going in the rain is really no problem.....although everybody looks at you and wonders what the heck are you doing driving that in this stuff!
I have Oregon figured out after last year when I got picked up doing the speed of the car in front of me( as it changed lanes at 80 mph) near Salem...had the out of state plates and was driving my Land Cruiser. I was polite, pointed out the discrepancy and had a female highway patrol officer ding me for 381 dollars. When I showed up and paid the ticket at the Salem court house and complained .... I was advised "welcome to Oregon". This trip I watched one try to sneek up on me near Eugene. I just stayed the speed limit and waved when he went by...he never even looked my way but he knew I was there:rolleyes:

Yeah the Eugene and Salem area are the worst....then to top it off you have out of state plates. Sitting ducks if you speed...we need budget help.....$275 million short.

The ACR makes a HUGE plume of water when driving in the rain - way cool.

I have about 6000 miles on mine. But then again - the track isn't that far.

Oregon's rolling in dough compared to CA. At least CA is so poor that they can't afford to hire more CHP officers :) Knock on wood, but I haven't gotten a ticket in CA for over 20 years. I've been pulled over plenty of times, but I must have been showing some leg or something because I always just get a warning.

The water plume is great and you just cannot beat driving this car. With the downforce, the "wheel hop" is gone and the car just glides( I could say as Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman...on rails). I still kind of want an '10 ACR but a FE one would be it....the two '10 ACRs with stripes I have seen....I really don't like....especially the B/W....the Blue/Black looks better. Maybe I would like another color combo but have not seen it yet.

Yes, the aero bits create the plume.

At the track last year I let my buddy drive my car when it was wet at the end of the evening. It was cool to watch the brake lights make the plume glow red.

Way cool.

Okay, time to head back to Arizona for a bit via SLC and Las Vegas. I am going the indirect route and drop though Bend (to look at a job) and then head east to Utah and home.

Not an ACR, but I just hit 20k on my 06 Coupe last weekend on a short road trip. Doing 2,000 plus miles this September as part of the Cannonball Run (Great American Run) - can't wait to log some "real" miles! These cars are just too fun not to be driven.
