My car has been in the shop for 16 days. I was having my transmission rebuilt.
First off let me say that it was critical to me- To have my original transmission serviced. A numbers matching car does matter (to me and my 92). However this presented a major problem. Currently Dodge does not offer tranny parts. The way they choose to repair Viper transmissions is to offer rebuilt units only. Units are not always available and they do not offer any information as to when they could become available.
I called anyone and everyone to try to get parts. Finally Bob Woodhouse told me he could get me anything I needed and called Nancy (parts) on here cell phone after hours to brief her on our conversation. My tranny shop called the next day. Woodhouse sent the all the schematics, tork specs and part numbers.
After three different part shippments and numerous conversations back and forth (from New Hampshire to Nebraska), my car is back in my garage.
Just over 2 weeks without the car is not that long but I sure did miss my baby. The ride home proved to be like any other. People smiling, others just drop there jaw and stare.
I just have to say- I am so **** proud of this car. Blown away by the support of the Viper Community. This time the race guys came to my aid. Thanks Bob!
