I just installed the very first MGW \"Fangs\" shift-knob, and....

Hello;

What a nicely made product!

I ordered the knob from Jon B at "Parts rack" right after VOI. The prototype was apparently a little too short, and need some tweeking. Well, no it's here, it's on, and I've got to say I am surprised.

The installation was very easy. Simply remove the trim ring bezel (but use a crayon,etc to mark its original position). You will then find the leather "boot" is neatly stapled to a plastic ring as one unit. Lift the "hoop skirt" up to expose the locking nut and wrench slats on the knob shaft. use two adjustable wrenches (and some muscle) to hold the shifter steady while you turn the lock nut clockwise (downward). Unscrew the factory shift knob. Screw on the MGW knob "it screws down farther than you think, use a little lube) then tighten the little Allen set-screw. Put the skirt back down, align the bezel and re-place screws. DONE!

I am extremely impressed with the difference in shift quality! Very precise, and a far better shifting experience than the factory knob. WHY? The MGW is SHORTER, therefore it has LESS LEVERAGE and shifting should take MORE effort; but is IS EASIER!

I highly recommend this well made easy to install shift knob. It looks much cooler being lower, and the Cloissone "Fangs" logo is BEAUTIFUL! Order one, you will be pleased!

Hello;

Seriously, this MGW SRT knob makes a huge difference! The Viper is so much easier to shift.

I got 100 miles of seat-time in yesterday for break-in, and to really get the feel of a shorter shifter. I can say without a doubt that the MGW knob allowed me to make easier, more precise shifts, quickly.

This is the least amount of money I've spent on a mod, and it is a "steal for the feel". Very easy to put on, also. Comes with it's own tools.

Oh, that "trim ring bezel" is surprisingly heavy.
