Has anyone had to replace their gen 3 engine recently and have any tips of what to do? The dealerships I have contacted said that they can't find any engines, and that I would have to find one myself. I know of some listed on eBay, but does anyone have any other recommendations where I could find one?

What all is wrong with yours? I just rebuilt mine over the winter due to a spun rod bearing. It wasn't all that expensive if I don't count the few upgrades I made.

There is a comp coupe motor for sale on here as well that would work too I believe. Nothing really different about it aside from headers to my knowledge. I think they are just blueprinted, so stock parts, but excellent tolerances.

Unfortunately there is a hole in my block, courtesy of a failed rod, thanks for the recommendation

Ah, yeah, that would be a bit tough to fix. You might ask around on the Facebook page as well. Back when I first damaged mine I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to salvage it or not so I started looking for short blocks. I got a couple offers for reasonable prices, so that might be a way to keep costs down for you depending on what you can salvage. There may be some complete engines offered as well.

Ciro, when you mention comp coupe motor, is the one from Dan Cragin the one? Dan is a great guy and a straight shooter. He has a ton of customers across the USA and we are lucky he's here to service us in California.

That's a great price for that motor, and the comp coupe comes with a better cam. Also, since its sitting in his shop, it will be much cheaper to install an upgraded heads and even a better cam. Cheaper as he, like most shops, do and engine out to change the heads. Give him a call, he's a great guy, he might even be able to give you something for your core and he'll ship in the correct engine container. Best wishes! Mike B
