So here is yet another 2 piece Rotor Post. Save yourself now if you feel you’ve read all you want to on the subject. My unique spin on this is that I am not one camp who is fighting against the other camp. I own BOTH.
It’s always been my nature to truly ‘compare’ things on my own, vs just going with “I heard this from so and so”
With this in mind, I set out to find out if there was a difference between srt10 Stoptech rotors and Eurotech rotors.
My findings? Get ready for pictures…
It comes down to this, I weighed them both (physically). And surprisingly they both save you the exact same amount 29 lbs. over stock rotors.
So your next question ok, so what sets them apart? Believe it or not, I feel 3 things, and they may seem trivial to most, but to me were important.
1st. Looks: The StopTechs look Generic. I own both and I don’t mind saying it, they just look like any other guys cross drilled or slotted rotors. The Eurotechs scream – High End, in my opinion. They look if you will…like a Ferrari and the Stoptechs look like… a corvette. Both will work, but the EuroTechs scream look at me, while being classy. Also The Hats have a really cool scallop to them where they connect to the rotor, which I think looks really cool vs. Stoptechs simple/generic circle cut all the way around (a pancake if you will).
StopTech:
EuroTech:
2ndDetails: The Stoptechs seemed to be anodized on the hats only, where as the Eurotechs also anodize the drilled holes/slotted sections, along with the surfaces where the pad does not touch/rust. The point in this, is when you wash your car, you will see plenty of ‘rust’ on the stop techs, which your response is, ‘oh that will go away after you drive it’ and you’re partly right, the pad contact area sure will, the rest will not. So you get an inner and outer ‘rust ring’ where as those areas are anodized on the EuroTechs, so NO rust rings. It’s a detail item, but you car nuts will appreciate this one.
EuroTechs:

I'd put StopTech's front and back photos, but they are currently on my car, because I ordered them first. Just imagine where you see the 'blueish' sections on the EuroTech rotor (not the hat), that those will show Rust (bare metal) on the StopTechs.
3nd Packaging: So I got my StopTech first, and I was EXTREMELY excited about them, because I wanted the performance benefit that MikeR said he gained over fellow Paxton Buddy ‘ILLSmoq.’ When I started ripping open the boxes, to my dismay, I noticed that they were 2 rotors in a box with JUST a flexible/Styrofoamish pad separating the hats only (meaning barely big enough to cover the hat, allowing the rotors to whack each other as they please. I immediately started puckering up, thinking oh crap, what if they scratched each other (in another box). Well, I was relieved to find out that had not. But I was still VERY disappointed that something I just blew $1600 bucks on left the STOPTECH factory as if they were common cores. I was relieved they were fine, but disappointed stoptech didn’t have enough respect for them, or me as a customer to pack the rotors better.
Someone else posted these photos of what happen to their StopTechs in transit:
Now fast forward to when I got my EuroTechs last week. They EACH came in their own box, within each of those boxes each rotor was covered COMPLETELY in heavy duty plastic. Then each boxed rotor got placed with 1 other, and the two separately boxed rotors were boxed in another box. So basically I got 2 boxes, with 2 rotors in each box, which were each in their own boxes, which within each of their own boxes was covered completely in a heavy duty plastic cover.
EuroTechs: (box in a box)
EuroTechs: Once you open the box, you get this (more plastic and protection):
Looks, Attention to Detail, and Packaging mean to me, EuroTech will be my answer to anyone asking what 2 piece rotor do I recommend. Why? Because I think they BOTH will perform flawlessly at the track, and on the street. So the devil is in the details after that, and I chose EuroTechs.
Oh and dont forget the free license plate cover.. lol.. j/k... but it does come with one, I wont be using it though ;-)
Hope this helps.
