I think I blew the rear end maybe the clutch any suggestions?

I was just cruising in 6th gear, I downshifted to fourth and hit the gas... Then POP. After that every gear has a chatter when lightly touching the gas but it goes away when I put it in neutral and roll. What do you guys think?

Any help guys... I need to determine if it safe to drive to Chuck Tator or I I have to trailer it there?

The Chatter stops if I let off the gas and just coast or If I put it in neutral. I don't know what the hell I did to it.

I would not chance anymore damage, just have it towed. It is more likely a trans problem.

Sounds very similar to what happend to mine also thought it was the trans but turned out to be the spider gears in the rear end...

Or a u-joint. Raise the rear wheels and rotate; listen/feel for clunking.

I just got back from my mechanics. We did just that. Raised the car and wiggled the wheels and it seem as thought there is alot of play in the main drive shaft going into the Diff. He seemed to think it was the
u joint(s). Not a loud clunking but maybe just enough. Is It safe to drive if a u joint is shot?

New Finding.

If I put the car in gear and just let the clutch out letting the car roll with out the throttle the chatter is constant. What does this mean?

Probably taking to the Wizard soon but I figure this is a perfect excuse to do headers, exhaust & maybe rockers.
