I concur! I just paid $59,000 for mine with 2,000 miles (did come with Extended warranty until 2010 though). Also, no stripes on this one.

I tried to buy this car, unfortunately they have a deposit on it from a guy in California.
I have been looking for a car like this for many months.

I TOLD YOU SO!!

Lets not forget there are only 800 or so ever made.

Ever wonder how some used Viper dealers are able to get enough cars to sell and stay in business?

Many people that own Vipers aren't associated with online Viper comunities or clubs. Because of the lack of knowledge by the sellers of said Vipers, many good deals are to be found.

IMHO.....60k for that car is 6-8k too much. Someone made a nice profit.

That car in todays market is worth 55K for an educated buyer. 60K for a uneducated buyer. 63K for a "got to have it, emotional buyer". Either way the car is one heck of a ride even if you paid 63K for it. Don't forget just a few years ago if you wanted that car it would have cost you almost 100K with taxes.

Just wait until the new coupe hits the streets along with normal depreciation...Most GTS's will drop another 5 to 10K this time next year. (aka...who cares...drive it and enjoy it...most cars are not investments)

A quick search in a number of used car trade rags shows several GTS Vipers for $35k to $38k. I recently passed on a ACR with 4300 miles for less than 50k.

Sure, the car is a good deal. For the seller : )

Hey Toby I consider myself an educated buyer and I will be in the market for a viper such as the one in the thread in a few months,So I will give you $1k for finding me a 74 mile ACR in perfect condition in "todays market" for 55k
Deal ? Deal!!!! DONE I really dont think it will happen for 55k for an ACR with less than 100 miles unless its a salvage car.

I agree! As for the relative worth of 2nd generation Vipers when the new GTS comes out -- pure speculation. I've heard this countless times before regarding other vehicles and it never seems to transpire. I'm confident that when I sell my car in a year (if I happen to), I will get close to 60K for it (even with some miles on it) due to the color combination and the fact that it is an ACR.

I purchased my 01 ACR with 100 miles on it last year in the mid 50's from a dealer. It was in mint condition. They even threw in a new car cover, a fresh battery and changed ALL of the fluids before I picked it up.

There is a red 01 ACR on auto trader right now with 4K miles and a clean title for 54.9K I am sure you could talk them down to 52K. The dealer is Palmer Dodge. Not sure if its mint or not though but they are claiming it is.

Keep your 1K for mods. :2tu:

Toby you got an awesome deal if you got your ACR with only 100 miles on it for mid 50's. I understand you can get a car with 3-5k miles on it for that price but for one to have under 100 miles on it and no salvage or junk title on it is awesome. If you see or hear of another regular GTS or an ACR with under 100 miles for that price PLEASE let me know...I just cant find them for mid 50's with that low of miles like you did...

Enjoy

Check with the dealer. They are repairing the paint issues on the hoods of the newer cars. It is a widespread problem. It had to do with the caotings not bonding well to the composite hood.

Yes, I have heard this is very common, unfortunately.
