Great to see you Chuck and I hear we got the Tab sorted ;)

You can make the Le mans trip expensive or cheap according to what you wish to do. My 2nd Trip to Le mans in 1994 I slept on the banking through the early hours and my Girlfriend slept in the back seat of the car, Since then ive moved on a bit :D

General entrance ticket covers you for the whole weekend and also allows you to visit other areas of the track like Mulsanne corner and Arnage corner. The pit lane is also open between practise sessions and you can get signed posters and goodies on the Friday morning. Price for this ticket was 62 Euros. Good value I think.
Campsite costs vary according to which site you chose, Or if you do not feel like camping Hotel costs bump the price up rather a lot. Best book those NOW for 2014. they sell out fast.

I organised a camping pitch for 22 people this year! We had a great time and as i'm sure you have seen on the other threads the photos posted by David and Randall.

So if anyone would like to attend next year with our crowd, your more than welcome. Or if you would like some advice on options I am happy to help.
Mark.

Maybe attending this event should go on my bucket list. Perhaps combine with a trip to the 'ring.
You certainly have the advantage of a group of friends prepositioned to hang out with, though !

My favorite from the above:

Baz's posted SRT track pics are pretty big a full size, good enough for wallpaper (one of them was 4mb)

Great pics! I did not realize the Ferarri track cars and the GTS-R Viper track car had the exact same make and model of rims! That is interesting!

Hey Chuck, very nice photos indeed but how do people stay dry with all the rain it gets there during the race? Other than the grand stand views, can you see much of the action while walking around? Just curious as the reason we go to the 24 in Daytona each year is the view if affords. Of course its a much smaller track and being a lot closer to home helps too. Looks like a blast.

We had no problem seeing the cars go flying by as we walked around. There are several big-screens strategically placed to keep an eye on the standings, and also Radio Le Mans, an FM/Internet radio station in English to keep stay informed.

Rain actually wasn't too bad. An umbrella/rain coat helps, and somehow I managed to be napping in my tent whenever a storm blew through, with the exception of all of us downtown Friday night! It was so much fun meeting the UK Viper contingent, and a complete blast all around. DEFINITELY WANT TO DO AGAIN.

also, if you are interested, talk to Mark (Fatboy18). The camp site he mentions is worth its weight in gold. 24/7 English security, on-site bar, hot showers, and a great group of cars! (an F40, Lambos, GT-Rs, TVRs, VIPERS, etc)

Le Mans 28th June 2013
82nd Le Mans 24 Hours
14-15 June 2014

Just received.

After celebrating the 90th Le Mans 24 Hours last weekend, the Automobile Club de l’Ouest will organise the 82nd event on 14-15 June 2014.

The Le Mans 24 Hours will be back at a more traditional date in 2014 as the race will take place at the end of the 24th week of the year.

It is the ninth time in 91 years that the Le Mans 24 Hours will be run on 14-15 June, the last being in 2008.

The test day will again be held two weeks before the race, on Sunday 1st June 2014.

Scrutineering will be on Sunday 8th and Monday 9th June.

As has been the case since 2012 and the revival of the test day two weeks before the blue riband event in the FIA World Endurance Championship, this schedule will enable the teams to install themselves in the centre of the Le Mans circuit, and they will not have to dismantle their installations before the start of the biggest rendezvous of the international endurance season.

The full 2014 FIA World Endurance Championship calendar will be announced before the end of September 2013.

Damn. Soooo wish I could have made it there! Looks like some major fun.

For sure on my bucket list. Maybe next years schedule will be more kind. :)

Btw, favorite pic award goes to sitting car-less on the track! :rolaugh:

Close second is the night shot of the glowing brakes. :)
