I too bought my Viper on Ebay last year, same as your plan; I flew down to Iowa from Toronto and drove it home. As with any used car it had a few bugs (not disclosed), I knew it had a rebuilt title so I expected something.
Overall a good experience, no regrets other than not being able to use today's dollar exchange!!
I also reccommend joining the club, we have met some great people and look forward to meeting many more.
Just sorry the VOI is so far away this year.

Soon as i get her home, i plan on joining no doubt. Ive already learned so much in the last 2 weeks here. Ive been a vette owner for many years, and cant tell you how much ive learned on there forums.
Doing all maintenance myself, im really looking forward to learning so much more about the car.
And the guy i purchased the car from is a viper nut,i truly expect this car to be mint. And after talking to him quite a few times, im sure it is. Nicest thing about this deal, he is the original owner. And he's changed the diff fluid every 3K miles, a little anal if you ask me, shouldn't that be like every 20K LOL

Bought it before bidding ended. We worked out a deal,great guy. Should have it home in Chicago by Friday. That is of course after i check it out. This guy is straight up, can tell by talking to him. So much better then buying from a dealer. Not bashing any dealers, but you know what i mean. This guy is a total viper nut.
Not to mention the money i save on taxes LOL
