indash CD player for 94

I would like to put a CD player in dash (not changer) in my ‘94 RT/10. I have one from a 2001 but I’ve been told that it would be to much work to setup/convert over. Something about low level output to the amps. (above my head). Is this true? What are my options with this 2001 unit. I thought if I bought one from a viper that it would just plug and play. They appear to be not even close to being compatible. Any ideas?

Jason- I put an Alpine CDM-7871 cd player in my 92 last summer. Install was a snap, but done by a professional.

I put a single CD Eclipse in my 94. Sorry, but I can't rememeber the model. Was very happy with the player...Kurt
